Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.5) OS: FreeBSD I'm using kmail imap and my server supports sieve filtering, so all the emails that i receive appears in several folders, sorted in server-side. In that case, no newmail notification displayed, except if the email arrives in imap folder i located now in kmail interface. It's look like this: 3 mails is ready to achieve me, sieve delivers one of them in folder1, second in folder2, and third in INBOX folder; if i located in folder2 in kmail interface - newmail notification comes - "New mail in Folder2", BUT no notification for new mail in folder1 and INBOX; if i located in folder5 in kmail interface - NO notification comes AT ALL. But emails receives successfully and appears in the correct folders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Use kmail imap with sieve server-side filtering I have seen this bug from kmail in kde3. It's really old.
I think it's somehow related to this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114989, 2005-10-24...

I can confirm this behavior with kdepim 4.7.1.
Same story here, on Linux 686, with Kmail 4.4.11.1 set up with "connected IMAP" type of account. Email headers downloaded, but no notification at all.
reports are against an unmaintained version.
