Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux krfb is not disabling the screen saver when a client connects. Any inactivity will cause the screen saver to re-activate thus constant movement of the mouse or keyboard input is required to use the connect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Setup krfb, with a screen saver activated. Actual Results: Login to the remote connection and screen is displayed, then is immediately returned to the screen saver, in my case a blank screen. Any movement of mouse or keyboard input will restore the screen until input or mouse movement ceases, then the screen will blank again. Only way to correct is disable the screen saver. Expected Results: Login to remote connection via KRDC or other VNC client disables the screen saver Linux Mint KDE Edition Julia KDE 4.6.0 krbf 4.6.0 krdc 4.6.0
I found a workaround: kill the krunner process on the host. The side effect is that it kills global shortcuts. You can start krunner again from the K menu.
I don't really understand what's the issue here. This is what the screensaver does, it starts when you are not using any input device. Why should that be disabled during a vnc session?
The issue is that it's supposed to start a certain time (e.g. 10 minutes) after you stop using any input device, not 0 to 1 seconds.
And besides that, it would be desirable to disable the screensaver completely while a vnc connection is active, otherwise with certain animated screensavers it would eat up TONS of bandwidth for nothing.
same issue with 4.8.1. Screensaver keeps appearing every second after unlocking it.
