Description Pierre Dumuid 2011-03-02 23:19:23 UTC
Version:           1.8.0 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS:                Linux

The Wish:

It would be nice to:
 * have a list of "export sets" and a default "export set".
 * have a default "export set" that can be added to:
    * by pressing "E" in slide-show viewer
    * Selecting thumbnails in thumbnail viewer, and pressing "E" or right click option.
 * Ability to load the list into any "export" selection.
    * show an "export" stamp when in thumbnail view to show which files are in
      current export list.

Reasons for the request:

I often use Digikam to sort through the photo's with my wife, parents and in-laws to prepare which ones to take to the printers for printing.

At the moment, we hold down "Ctrl" to select the items in the thumbnail and then drag / copy them to a dolphin window showing a folder of photo's to be taken to the printers. If we accidentally click somewhere, zoom, look at another folder, etc. we loose the selection to print, and have to start again!

In the past, I have tagged the files as say, "print-inlaws-2010-05-12". But the issue remains of being unable to tag whilst in slide show, etc.

Reproducible: Didn't try

All this request can be done through Tags management. You can create a keyboard shortcuts to a tag and use it to tag items to export. Dedicated tags in digikam already exist by default : Color labels or Pick Labels.

Labels are now available in kipi-plugins to export items as well.
