Version: 2.1b5 (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux During working in Kile I can add new files to my project and have them listed in the project view. After restarting Kile the project data, however, was not saved and files were not added to the project. The project file has 755 permissions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: -Add files to project -Restart Kile Actual Results: Project data (also main document etc.) is not saved. Expected Results: Added files should show up as part of the project in the project view.
On which file system did you save the project file?
encfs
encfs on top of ext4 to be exact. And right. This could be related as problems could have been started after I moved my files to encfs a few weeks ago. I am quite sure that it worked when I created the project on ext4.

Do you get any kind of locking error messages when you run Kile with debug output?
I got "couldn't lock local file" several times.
Ok, thanks. So, this is indeed another manifestation of bug 203554. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 203554 ***
I only searched for bugs in Kile before opening this bug report. So will I add my vote to the other bug. Regrettably, Kile is of limited use for me if it does not work on encrypted partitions.
Until the bug is fixed, maybe it's possible for you to store the project file on a "regular" file system, and only encrypt the LaTeX files?
Yep that works. Somehow inconvenient to use because I normally save the whole project in a VCS but hopefully only a workaround for the next months ;-). Thank you so far.
