Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux I have got this problem that when KDE starts up, most of the time (but not always) Klipper, Volume control and Network manager tray icons do not appear in the panel. In addition to that, none of "leave" commands in kick off application launcher (i.e. log out, restart, ...) work and the only thing I can do is to kill the X server. most of the time when I kill the X server and log in again all the tray icons will appear in their place and log out, restart, ... in kick off application launcher work without any problem as well. I have checked the log files but there is absolutely no error message which makes me really confused what goes wrong. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Turn on computer login to the terminal startx Actual Results: Login to KDE just fine Notice missing systray icons Cannot logout from KDE without zapping Xserver Expected Results: Login to KDE Logout when finished with session
Is this still valid for KDE 4.8.3 or trunk?
Hello! Plasma 4 was replaced by Plasma 5 four years ago by the KDE community. In that time we have made great strides in stability and functionality. We are closing all Plasma 4 bugs as most of them are no longer applicable to the new frameworks Plasma 5 is built upon. If you could, please re-test with the latest version of Plasma 5, and submit a new bug to "plasmashell" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
