Description dmoyne 2011-02-23 23:49:35 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

Before it was possible to keep the header style as chosen in menu View-> Headers -> Fancy header (for example) ; when opening a message for display I can select a header style like Fancy header (for example) but if after doing so if I open another message it is still with the same defalt header ; is this a bug ; in any case why this message header display wished as globally set on all the messages is not selectable in the main Settings menu.
Thanks

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
open kmail change header style in a particular message

Actual Results:
does change the header style of this particular message

Expected Results:
setting to be kept as not selectable in main settings, but not

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35-27-generic
Compiler: cc

This bug is partly still valid for kmail2 (using KDE 4.8.4).

Choosing a different header style in a particular message window leads to the beahviour that this header style is displayed for all other new separatly opened message windows in this kmail/kontact session but no longer present after a kmail restart.

Choosing a different header style from the main kontact/kmail window is remembered between sessions.

@Christian: The bug you are describing is completely separate from the original report. I opened Bug #310536 for it.

@dmoyne: I'd say that's a feature, not a bug. Hope I didn't get it wrong, but maybe you want to point out, what exactly is wrong about it.

Should be valid for kmail2 just as well, component "UI"

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
