Description Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer 2011-02-23 17:19:44 UTC
Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.3)
OS: Linux

Note: this problem may lie in and underlying system of knotify. Please reassign as necessary.

When knotify plays small sounds (kopete's or konversation's notifications), instead of the sound you hear "small-duration" noises, although a few times works perfectly.

Switching knotify to use sox's play makes it work perfectly.

This seems not to happen if the sound is somewhat bigger than a simple notification.

Feel free to contact me to debug this problem.

Reproducible: Sometimes

I can reproduce this bug either with Xine's or VLC's backends.

Similar reports suggested to try the GStreamer backend.
