Hi, thanks for the report! Do you have khangman data installed (meaning: can you play when you run KHangMan?) If so, you said you were getting new files, is it a specific file that makes it crash?
Hi Anne-Marie, Yes I was able to play Hangman before I tried to install new files. I had the Hangman data that installs by default ( Animals and stuff). I was trying to add some Hangman data to have a new category in it to play with. Hangman crashed and continues to crash, even after I reinstall Ubuntu itself from scratch. It does not start at all, it crashes straightaway. I am afraid I do not remember which specific data file I was trying to add, may have been the one on World Capital cities. KAnagram also refuses to work, though I had not been playing with that at the time of the first Hangman crash. Just some more info: I keep Ubuntu on a separate Primary Partition on my harddisk and /Home on a separate primary Partition. As I said, re-installation of Ubuntu from scratch is also not helping. Thanks for your help. Please let me know if you would like me to dig deeper into this. My organization uses Edubuntu in Libraries in Government schools that are in far flung places and so preventing such crashes is vitally important for us. Created attachment 60454 [details] New crash information added by DrKonqi I was starting Khangman after installing extra languages. Now I can't start it at all.
Charles can you try to remove the khangmanrc file locatedin .kde/share/config/ or .kde4/share/config/ and try restarting KHangMan please?
I need more information about the EXACT steps to reproduce this crash after you remove the khangmanrc config file. Please indicate exactly from KHangMan start how to reproduce. The 4.4 release serie is stopped by the way as is the 4.5 serie so you might want to upgrade to KDE 4.6 and see if you reproduce. Marking as Waiting for more information.
