Description lnxusr 2011-02-18 03:46:27 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

A web link opened via KDE takes an average of ten seconds longer to open than via a different call. This has been going on for quite some time now. I just noticed it when I installed Jbitwatcher (a java ebay biding utility). When I open a link in Jbidwatcher with the browser already open (Chrome, firefox konqueror or rekonq) the link opens in a new tab almost instantly. Clicking on a link in KMail or Keepassx, which I assume use some KDE specific call to open html, takes about ten seconds to open a new tab with the link. It also takes about ten seconds longer to start the browser if it's not previously open.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Click on a html link in an email.

Actual Results:
Link takes additional ten seconds to open than should.

Expected Results:
Link opens immediately or within one to two seconds.

Given the age, I'm closing this as unmaintained. Let us know if it's not working more recently.
