Description Rutger 2011-02-17 22:06:30 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

KOrganizer 4.4.9 on OpenSuse 11.3
Event invitations with embedded attachments cannot be accessed once the invitation has been accepted in Kmail and the event has been added to Korganizer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive an event invitation with attached files in Kmail
2. Accept the invitation in Kmail/Kontact
3. Go to Korganizer/Kontact and view the accepted event invitation
4. Attempt to open the attachments embedded within the event

Actual Results:
- When right-clicking the attachment(s) embedded in the event and selecting 'Open' does nothing.
- When right-clicking the attachement(s) embedded in the event and selecting 'Copy', then navigating to a directory within Dolphin and attempting to paste the file produces the error message "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:klauncher said: Unkown protocol 'cid'."

Expected Results:
The attachments should open with the appropriate application or be asked to save elsewhere.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
