Version: 2.15 (using KDE 4.5.5) OS: Linux Every extract from Ark ends with name with '?' if the directory or file name contains the diacritics. This files can't be normally deleted! Only with MC. I'dont know the coding table, but we use normally UTF-8, ISO-8859-2 or WIN-1250. I think, the problem is from the windows coding. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Extract archive, in witch are names with Central European diacritics. Actual Results: File names are with '?' Expected Results: File names will be with central European characters. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64 Compiler: gcc
The problem happens primarily with zip files, right?
Probably it's unzip bug, not ark: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540598 http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=57965 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580961 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=483290 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69945 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306403
This bug report is probably a duplicate of bug #240727
Probably so. I've never closed it because I've been meaning to look at all those bug reports first, but it makes sense to just add them to the original report. Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 240727 ***
