Version: 4.6 beta4 (using KDE 4.6.0)

I sent an outlook appointment invitation to my private email. kontact/Kmail2 shows the message as full text only, but does not allow to add the appointment to my calendar.

Reproducible: Always

I have the same problem.
Comment 4 jlj.babydragon 2011-03-27 10:15:00 UTC
I just upgrade kdepim to 4.5.94.1, kmail still show invitation as plain text. I could not accept all invitations nor add them to calendar.
Comment 5 jlj.babydragon 2011-04-22 03:44:15 UTC
Update to kdepim4.5.95(kmail 2.0.95), this problem still exist.

You mean the fixes were merged into master branch? I just update kdepim to gentoo kdepim-4.6.9999 (clone from git://anongit.kde.org/kdepim, the master branch), this problem still occur.
Comment 9 Florian Evers 2011-05-11 23:19:52 UTC
I can confirm that this bug is still _not_ fixed in the 4.6.9999 branch fetched with git. Perhaps a 4.6 branch was forked, and the bugfix was only introduced to the new development branch (4.7?)?

If my assumption is correct... would it be possible to backport the aforementioned patches? Else, this would indicate that the bug is related to something different.

Thanks,
Florian

Hej,

this bug is fixed in current master branch.
When opening the attached email, the buttons for accepting/rejecting the invitation are shown correctly.

Ciao,
Tobias

I updated kdepim to master branch, this problem still occur. I have tried to receive invitations which send from outlook or google calendar, kmail still show invitation as plain text.

Can you send me one invitation from outlook, to my e-mail ?

At least KMail 2.1.0 (from KDEPIM 4.6.0/gentoo packages) is not able to handle invitations/calendar events anymore.

@Sergio: Did you already get the requested invitation?

I got it, and it worked fine.

Would be great if someone with C++ skills debugged this issue, since none of the developers can reproduce this.

kdepim/plugins/messageviewer/bodypartformatter/text_calendar.cpp is a good starting point.
Comment 15 Florian Evers 2011-06-17 09:16:19 UTC
I confirm this as well, the newest KDEPIM 4.6.0 build within gentoo is not able to display appointments. I created a new test user, just added the IMAP connector to my mail server, and opened my test invitation. I only see the raw text.

Everyone using gentoo ?
Comment 17 Florian Evers 2011-06-17 14:13:29 UTC
It's likely a Gentoo bug. I unpacked the whole tarball, und found the aforementioned file text_calendar.cpp. Unfortunately, this file seems not to be extracted by any of Gentoo's KDEPIM ebuilds. At least I unpacked the follwing packages (with "ebuild $PATH_TO_EBUILD unpack") and tried to locate the file:

wesley kde-base # ls -al
insgesamt 0
drwxrwxr-x 11 portage portage 368 17. Jun 14:06 .
drwxrwxr-x 3 portage portage 72 17. Jun 14:06 ..

wesley kde-base # find -type f -iname "text_cal*"
wesley kde-base #

Nothing. Either I missed the correct package, or it is simply not extracted and thus not compiled. I'm going to open a gentoo bugreport... wait for the link.

Hi,

This problem is really a gentoo bug, but a fix for the responsible ebuild is already available, and the move to the main portage tree hopefully just a matter of days or hours! :-D

Can be closed now :-)

Florian
