Created attachment 56836 [details] K3b debug output Version: 2.0.2 (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux When trying to burn ISO image (~392 MB) to DVD-RW in restricted overwrite mode, k3b correctly asks: Found DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite medium in HL-DT-ST - DVDRAM GH22NS50. Should it be overwritten? When I choose "overwrite", it asks me the same question again: Found DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite medium in HL-DT-ST - DVDRAM GH22NS50. Should it be overwritten? After I choose "overwrite" it "starts" burning, point is it call wodim to burn in, but wodim doesn't seem to be able to be able to burn DVD-RW in RO mode (wodim tries to send RESERVE TRACK SCSI command to the device and that correctly returns error - medium is in restricted overwrite mode and thus no track can be reserved, it should just be overwritten without reserving it). Point is that if wodim cannot handle DVD-RW RO, k3b should NOT use it to burn on such medium and perhaps use growiso to burn it. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Choose to burn image with size < 700 MB and try to burn it on DVD-RW in restricted overwrite mode Actual Results: K3b calls wodim to burn it, which doesn't support DVD-RW in restricted overwrite mode Expected Results: K3b calls growiso to burn it, which does support DVD-RW in restricted overwrite mode.
This is still an issue.
Same issue here. It happens for every size in Restricted Overwrite DVD-RW. As a workaround, you can enable advanced GUI and select growisofs as writing app when you try to burn the dvd.
