Created attachment 56794 [details] Doubled menu items Version: 2.5 (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux After couple of days/weeks of keeping Konsole running, suddenly keyboard shortcuts stop working, saying "The key sequence 'Ctrl+Shift+X' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts' from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered." Apparently there are two identical lines for each shortcut (as are menu items for most of menu). Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Using konsole for week or more with most often used shortcut - Ctrl+Shift+X (Clear and reset terminal) Using Ubuntu 10.10 and GNOME: $ konsole --version Qt: 4.7.0 KDE Development Platform: 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) Konsole: 2.5

I have never encountered the reported problem. Does this still happens in the recent KDE-4.7.x for the reporter?
Just stumbled into the same bug. Uptime on Konsole is about a week. Konsole 2.8.3, KDE 4.8.4, Ubuntu 12.04 Help Menu - no problems Settings - Configure Current Profile and Switch Profile are duplicated Bookmarks - no problems View Menu - Everything except split view and detach current tab is duplicated. Edit Menu - Copy Input To is ok, everything else is duplicated File Menu - New Window, New Tab, Quit are ok, everything else is duplicated I'm hopeful this helps you see a pattern. If I create a new window (ctrl-shift-n), the new window and menu are completely normal. If I detach a tab, the new window and menu are normal (this is an "easy" workaround).
@Jason : Thanks for your detailed report. I does notice a pattern there : all those duplicated actions are contained in sessionui.rc in the source code. Other common points between your report and Atis's : * Both happen after the system or konsole run continuously for a long time * Both use the Ubuntu distribution.
I've got this happened again (Still using old version - 2.5.4, don't want to upgrade my working OS), and tried some workarounds: Detaching tab removed doubled items from new window, but reattaching it back to previous window still had the same menu items doubled. They were doubled for more than one tab (sometimes I noticed that they are doubled just for single tab). So, next thing I tried is "Split view" which made all menu items normal again (after that closing split view doesn't double menu), so this is better workaround for window with multiple tabs. @Jekyll - you are right, that appears to be common. I can try to report some more findings using old version, now that it's known that it also affects newer versions, but the occurrence is quite rare, approximately once a month if I keep having Konsole open so long. Are there any more details that could be interesting?
I'm unable to reproduce this using Konsole 15 on KDE5/KF5. Recommend close: RESOLVED LATER
