Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux I have Konqueror configured so if I try to open a link from Virtual Desktop #1 and there's an opened Konqueror un Virtual Desktop #1, it opens a new Konqueror window in Virtual Desktop #1. If there were already a Konqueror window in #1, it would open it there, in a new tab. I expect the same behavior for different activities, but it isn't. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Activity #1, Virtual Desktop #1, and open Konqueror. 2. Go to Activity #2, Virtual Desktop #1, and from KRunner run "gg:asdf" or a link. Actual Results: It switches to Activity #1, Virtual Desktop #1, and opens a new tab in existing Konqueror window. Expected Results: I think it should stay in Activity #2, Virtual Desktop #1, and open a new Konqueror window. I'm using KDE SC 4.6 (lastest RC, the one before the final release).
I can confirm this on 4.8.4, also when trying to open links from a different application. I find this trully annoying for the following reasons: - If activity 1 is stopped, new link will restart activity which takes time and in some cases a lot of time. - Changing to another activity now locks screen and requires password entry, which also takes time. Workarounds/tests/proposals welcome. Regards,
