Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux Before update to KDE 4.6 i was using 4.5.5 with gtk molecule style defined in system settings/application style/gtk style. After update to KDE 4.6 the style in gtk applications, Firefox, and Gimp for example doesnt use the style molecule or other like qtcurve. it appears ugly without no style applied. i tried to remove firefox, clean .mozilla folder, delete .gtkrc-2.0-kde4, reinstall molecule gtk style, reinstall qtcurve... tried also to create a new user and nothing... none works... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: update to kde 4.6 with 4.5.5 installed using GTK molecule and no gtk applications use the style defined.
Could you check if this is a duplicate of bug 261290?
I checked and i have the file .gtkrc-2.0-kde4 in home and have selected qtcurve in system settings... it is not related...
I there again... when executing firefox from console it returns> (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-go-back-ltr' for stock: Icon 'gtk-go-back-ltr' not present in theme (firefox-bin:2643): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_default_render_icon: assertion `base_pixbuf != NULL' failed (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_style_render_icon: assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed (firefox-bin:2643): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-go-forward-ltr' for stock: Icon 'gtk-go-forward-ltr' not present in theme (firefox-bin:2643): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_default_render_icon: assertion `base_pixbuf != NULL' failed (firefox-bin:2643): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_style_render_icon: assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed (firefox-bin:2643): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed maybe it can help...
i searched in my packagekit and i dont have and cant find the package> gtk-qt-engine-kde4 i think that this is nedeed... maybe is this the problem? using kubuntu 10.10
Maybe Hugo knows what the problem could be.
I have no clue. And no expertise on how the gtk style actually gets loaded. I've read about issues with ubuntu, because of guilty start-kde scripts. I've seen people having problems because the styles are not looked for in the right path, etc. Can be anything. Question: how did you update to kde4.6, and what is your distro.
i have a very similar problem. as this seems to contain to this bug, i add my information here. pinentry for GPG used in kmail doesn't use the gtk theme i selected. before a different style was used. Sorry, but i can't remember if it was the right one, but it definitly was an other one than now. I upgraded from 4.5.5 to 4.6 using Kubuntu PPA Backports on Kubuntu 10.10

Hi, Sorry, but i don't use kde anymore, and because of that i can't re-test and confirm that the bug is valid.
No longer relevant to Plasma 5 anyway, which has a totally different GTK theming system that works much better now. :)
