After selecting headers to display, if the address book is not closed immediately, the position and size of the headers are lost.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kontact
2. Go to Contacts
3. Select some headers to display
4. Go to Mail
5. Close Kontact
6. Re-open Kontact


Actual Results:  
Header positions and sizes are lost, but the headers still remain checked in the right-click menu.


Expected Results:  
Header positions and sizes should be saved.

To workaround this issue, use the following steps:

1. Open Kontact
2. Go to Contacts
3. Select some headers to display
4. Close Kontact without changing views

The next time Kontact is opened, the headers are correct.

This occurs in the kdepim-4.4.9 packages distributed with Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick.

Please test if this is the case using kmail2/kde 4.8
I also can not see how this is a kaddressbook bug?
