Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.95) OS: Linux With KDE-4.5.5 and dolphin or konqueror: entering "fish://user@remote.host:port/path/as/required" into the location bar allows browsing of remote filesystem. Using KDE-4.5.95 (4.6-RC2): if the remote host is not in "known_hosts" and/or a public key is not in the remote "authorized_keys", the appropriate prompts are given. After successful authentication ... nothing. The status bar in Dolphin displays 'Connecting ...' indefinately. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: open Dolphin or Konqueror enter "fish://user@remote.host:port/path/as/required" into the location bar if prompted accept remote host if prompted supply a valid password for the remote host Actual Results: No remote files or folders are displayed Expected Results: Remote filesystem to be displayed, be browsable and to allow file transfer to and from.
Problem still in 4.6.0
openSUSE 11.4 Milestone 6 -and- RC1... The "fish" and "sftp" protocols never return - stay "connecting". Yet ssh from the command line works fine. Konqueror does prompt for the userid/password as it should. The userid/password are saved in the Wallet correctly.
seems fixed in 4.6.1 -- tested with konqueror using openSuSE-11.4
