Description Alexander van Loon 2011-01-21 14:35:34 UTC
Version: 0.6.1 (using KDE 4.5.95)
OS: Linux

Rekonq asks me to save a file called safari.jsp when I visit certain sites. The website http://kde-look.org/ is a good example but I’ve also seen it appear when visiting other websites. When I cancel saving the file the website seems to work fine, but it sure is annoying if I’m asked every time.

However, I noticed this doesn’t happen when I visit http://kde-look.org/ with my notebook which runs the development version of Kubuntu 11.04, it only happens when I visit with my desktop which is running Kubuntu 10.10 and has been upgraded to KDE SC 4.6 RC2 through Kubuntu’s repositories. On my desktop I also made some changes to the cookie settings, namely disabling ‘Treat all cookies as session cookies’ and setting it to accept all cookies to avoid problems with web browsing caused by the default cookie settings. As far as I know I did not make any other changes to rekonq’s configuration.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
[1] Visit http://kde-look.org/ with rekonq.
[2] Observe the ‘Save As’ dialog appearing asking to save the file ‘safari.jsp’
Comment 1 Andrea Diamantini 2011-01-22 09:48:23 UTC
Hi alex,
I noticed this depending on the adblock here. Do you have it disabled? If so, please try enabling it for a while and check the page: the problem should not occur.
If you can confirm me this, I can easily find the problem.
Targetting 0.7..
Comment 2 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-01-22 19:28:59 UTC
Same here when adblock disabled.
Comment 3 Alexander van Loon 2011-01-26 09:03:04 UTC
I confirm that the Save dialog no longer appears when I enable adblock again. Ideally I’d have adblock enabled, but the truth is that in it’s current implementation it also interferes with the proper functioning of certain websites.
Comment 4 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-02-04 14:06:10 UTC
Workaround: disable adblock and do this in command line:

[root@archlinux rekonq]# pwd
/home/gnumdk/.kde4/share/apps/rekonq
[root@archlinux rekonq]# >adblock
[root@archlinux rekonq]# chown root.root adblock
Comment 5 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-02-04 14:06:45 UTC
You should read "Enable adblock" for the workaround... :-/
Comment 6 Andrea Diamantini 2011-02-19 10:53:48 UTC
Please, be careful with Bellegarde workaround: adblock will NO MORE work that way.

About the bug: it is no more occuring now here. rekonq 0.6.81, KDE SC 4.6.0
What about you?
Comment 7 Alexander van Loon 2011-02-19 12:18:40 UTC
I haven’t seen it occurring anymore either since I upgraded. Marking it as resolved and fixed then.
Comment 8 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-02-28 09:47:49 UTC
Need to be reopen, here with last git, rekonq ask me to save safari.jsp with and without adblock...
Comment 9 schmirrwurst 2011-02-28 16:58:48 UTC
The same for me, with rekonq daily from the ppa !
Comment 10 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-03-02 10:32:16 UTC
Add http://*safari.jsp* to adblock rules as a workaround...
Comment 11 schmirrwurst 2011-03-03 11:27:10 UTC
even if adblock is desactivated ?
Comment 12 Andrea Diamantini 2011-03-03 16:52:59 UTC
(In reply to comment #11)
> even if adblock is desactivated ?

Obviously not :)

Just to be clear, this bug should not depend from the adblock, but from the fact that kde-apps webserver thinks that a safari browser is visiting its site.
I guess people here have all the master version of rekonq and that they tried the UA switcher from the first commit...
If so, let's try to remove the $KDEHOME/share/config/kio_httprc file and browse the site again...
Comment 13 schmirrwurst 2011-03-03 17:55:40 UTC
I deleted the kio_httprc file, I'm not sure, but it seems that rekonq is a little faster, but the safari.jsp file problem remains
Comment 14 Fabian B. 2011-04-08 15:21:18 UTC
With rekonq 0.7.0 the safari.jsp is back. on opendesktop.org, forum.golem.de, and some other sites
Comment 15 Alexander van Loon 2011-05-17 09:54:56 UTC
I'm using the daily builds repository of rekonq for Ubuntu (my version is 0.7.51) and I still don't see the problem anymore schmirrwurst and Fabian B. I tried visiting the websites Fabian mentioned, but they don't trigger the bug for me. Also, Andrea, I never used the user agent switcher AFAIK.
Comment 16 schmirrwurst 2011-05-17 20:51:44 UTC
Still the same problem on kde-look, with 0.7.0 and natty
Comment 17 schmirrwurst 2011-05-17 21:00:45 UTC
Sorry but still the same safari.jsp problem with the latest packaged rekonq from the ppa 0.7.51 !
Comment 18 Alexander van Loon 2011-05-18 23:02:51 UTC
Strange that I don't experience the bug anymore, but if you two are still experiencing the problem I should obviously reopen it.
Comment 19 Tobias Borgert 2011-07-10 19:03:35 UTC
I can confirm this bug with several sites, including the aforementioned opendesktop.org and golem.de.

Kubuntu 11.04
Qt 4.7.2
KDE 4.6.5 (4.6.5)
rekonq 0.7.0
Comment 20 Ezio Vergine 2011-09-06 17:16:00 UTC
Same issue with
Kubuntu 11.04
Qt 4.7.2
KDE 4.6.5 (4.7.0)
rekonq 0.7.0
Comment 21 Cédric Bellegarde 2011-10-13 07:15:38 UTC
Same here...

Note that the bug only occure where disabling adblock...
Comment 22 Andrea Diamantini 2011-10-31 10:38:40 UTC
Targetting 0.9 just to be sure to NOT forget this.
It should anyway be fixed with this combination:
- rekonq 0.8.x
- KDE SC 4.7.x
- QtWebkit 2.2

It is in the configuration described in #22
Comment 26 Davor Cubranic 2012-02-09 05:09:01 UTC
I can confirm that I don't see the bug any more with rekonq 0.8.0 on KDE 4.7.4 (KUbuntu 11.10 Oneiric).
