Description Matthijs 2011-01-18 23:19:22 UTC
Version: 1.0 (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

My emoticons won't display in the applications I tried: Kopete and KMail. Sending emoticons works fine, and anyone else will be able to see them (either in text or an image). The emoticons just won't show up on my own screen.

I tried changing the text which triggers the emoticon, and after that the text is visible. When changing it back, it reverts to this bug.

The text for the emoticon is invisible, and nothing can be selected at the place it's supposed to be.

Note that this only affects display, when replying to an email, the emoticon text is quoted properly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Type an emoticon and send it (eg using IM)

Actual Results:
No emoticon is visible

Expected Results:
Show the emoticon

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.36-ARCH
Compiler: gcc

Happens here also.
The text of the emoticons (like: :P) is shown, when disabling emoticons, the emoticons doesn't work.
Changing emoticon theme doesn't fix it, even if you install a new theme.

Kopete 1.0.80
KDE 4.6.0
