Description Pieter De Decker 2011-01-17 17:51:15 UTC
Version: 0.11.2 (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

When I move an annotation, Okular forgets to repaint the PDF. This results in something like this:

http://i.imgur.com/PWxk1.png

A workaround is to force a repaint of the PDF by scrolling across the page after moving the annotation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Create an annotation in a PDF
2) Drag it across the page

SIMILAR PROBLEM
1) Press F6 to bring up the "Review" toolbar
2) Drag it to one of the other three edges of the PDF viewing box.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Works for me in KDE 4.6.1, can you try with this version and tell us if you still have the problem?
Comment 2 Pieter De Decker 2011-03-16 20:58:52 UTC
I can no longer reproduce the bug in my current environment. (openSUSE 11.4, KDE 4.6, Okular 0.12.)

Bad new guys... for some reason, the bug popped up again in Okular 0.12. My environment is still openSUSE 11.4 with KDE 4.6.0.

So you did not change your okular version and it went from working to not working, why is it an okular bug then? It would seem to me that the bug is somewhere else.
Comment 5 Pieter De Decker 2011-05-02 15:09:39 UTC
I thought that it might be related to KDE's Desktop Effects so I disabled them, restarted Okular with the same document and I still had issues. Are there any other common culprits that may have caused this odd behavior?
Comment 6 Albert Astals Cid 2011-05-07 12:35:00 UTC
You changed your X or X drivers version?
Comment 7 Pieter De Decker 2011-05-07 16:03:18 UTC
Honestly, I have no idea. Every day there's a handful of package updates that I have to approve, so most of the time I don't even look at the updates list. I can tell you however that I'm using xorg-x11-7.6-43.44.1.x86_64 and fglrx64_xpic_SUSE114 (a proprietary ATI driver).

This bug could be related to bug 195955.

I am pretty sure this has been fixed when i fixed a repainting bug in the pageview a while ago so i am closing the bug.

If you can still reproduce it with newer KDE/Okular versions please reopen the bug.

Thanks for caring about Okular :-)
