Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.95) OS: Linux My fingerprint scanner is supported by the UPEK driver and I can use fingerprint-gui to access it. Could you implement a fingerprint authentication in kwallet, please? Fingerprint is quite useless for now on KDE, Kdm and Kwallet being the most useful apps for fingerprint input. Reproducible: Didn't try
Same holds for me. For user authentication (including KDM), PAM fingerprint works more or less (rather less;). In KDM, for example, you still have to select the correct user but different story... KWallet integration for fingerprint readers would be awesome. On Windows, there are plenty of password managers for web browsers which can log you on to a site with a swipe - KWallet would enable this system wide.
that could be great, nice feature to add
Well, last time I tried it, my fingerprint reader is not recognised under Linux. However, I agree with you that this would be awesome. Did you managed to setup your fingerprint reader PAM module? Can you log-in with it? If yes, then I'll have one more reason to add a kwallet PAM module.

@Marc: thanks for the link. I tried it, but it won't work with my device. Perhaps it'll work some day :)
Please be advised that I changed the computer and the new one no longer has a fingerprint reader. So, someone having fingerprint reader please work on this if you want to get it done. :-)
this is the biggest blocker for me to use the fingerprint reader at all (even though it's working for logging in and sudo). The problem is, that if kwallet isn't automatically unlocking, all the apps depending on it (chrome, slack etc.) might fail to get their login and puff: you lost all your logins and saved credentials for these apps, because they then initiate a reset.
Are there any plans to work on it? If a developer lacks a fingerprint device I'll happy happy to ship them one.
