Version:           4.4.3 (KDE 4.6.x) (using KDE 4.5.95) 
OS:                Linux

Actually ffmpeg and mplayer can play ape format without problem, but phonon declare not support it yet.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open amarok
2. Browse ape file

Actual Results:  
Ape file don't show up.

Expected Results:  
Ape file show correctly.

I found some older patch for phonon and author says it has been tested on magiclinux.

And maybe some other format that backend actually support is not included too.

Also, please file individual bug reports for the affected backends, I am claiming this one into, though the gstreamer backend does dynamic mimetype listing, so I would expect that gstreamer itself maps a wrong mimetype causing this behaviour.
