There is an exception thrown somewhere in a thread, so we dont see the real problem. Please run digikam under gdb, catching the exception: gdb digikam catch throw run provoke the crash, then type bt and post the output here. Thanks!

No worries, it's really simple ;) Just open some terminal application (Konsole for example) and enter the commands posted by Marcel, starting with "gdb digikam", press enter, then type the next command and so on. Then just select everything in that terminal, copy it to clipboard and then paste here, that's all. It would be a really great help from you!
