Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.95) OS: Linux Since lately, all my system sounds are played twice. That happened after I changed the sound system from pure also to PulseAudio. This happens only for system sounds (e.g. kopetes incoming message notification, alert sounds ...) but not e.g. for playback of music or videos. If I activate my bluetooth headset, the sound is played only once (in the headset) - as soon as i disable it again, the twice played sounds re-occur again. see also: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/688166 Reproducible: Always
Hi, Can I ask what you mean by "twice"? The two options I can think off are: 1. It's played once and then when it's finished it plays again (i.e. it goes "bing-bing" rather than just "bing") or 2. You have two other audio devices (in addition to your bluetooth; e.g. a built in sound card and a USB card) and the sounds play on *both* those other devices rather than just one of them. Can you confirm which is correct? Also does this happen for all notification sounds or just the "bell" sounds? Can you attach the output of "pacmd list" to this bug (attach rather than paste inline as it's quite large). Thanks!
Hi Colin, thank you for your attention. By played "twice" I mean your first option (the bing-bing ;) ) I only have my internal soundcard (Intel HDA) and the bluetooth headset - No other devices. It seems to happen for all notification sounds (e.g. startup, shutdown, alert bell ...). As I'm currently on work, I can only provide you with the pacmd output this evening. Best regards, Steffen
Confirmed for 4.4.3 and the vlc backend, but it didn't happen since I compiled the newer git version a few days ago, so this might be already fixed.
Closing correctly.
