Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.4) OS: Linux Starting KDE may take up to 13 minutes because of the 99% usage of the CPU from plasma-desktop. After that I wait 12 minutes to see my desktop loaded! Expected Results: Load in 1 min !

[Comment from a bug triager] - What widgets do you have in your desktop ? - Does this also happen if you create a new clean test user account ? - When did the problem start ? Regards
I have many widgets as shortcuts of applications (vlc, skype, digikam, etc.) a memory counter and the moon phase widget. The clean test user acount loads on 2'34'' from login page (which is not fast but at least logical! comparing with 13 min !!) The problem started last March with the new kde version 4.3 (I'm not sure about the version!) First it went from 2' 40 '' to 3' 45'' and the last few days after I put Catalyst 10.12 (and back Catalyst 10.10) it went to 13 ' time! I have an ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT
[Comment from a bug triager] - Do you have any unofficial/third-party plasmoids ? If you do, could you try to remove some of them just to test ? In any case, this should be better analyzed by the Plasma developers. Regards
How do I understand the difference between official and unofficial plasmoids? For example is the vlc shortcut plasmoid unofficial? Similarly I've got : Skype, FileZilla, Digikam, Evolution, KlamAV, Firefox, KCalc, GIMP, Eclipse, Oracle VM, Gambas, GRSync, Kontact, OpenOffice.org, System Settings, foobilliard, Openshot Video Editing PLASMOIDS as SHORTCUTS. Is any one of them unofficial? Should I remove them one by one to test?
[Comment from a bug triager] Those shortcuts are of the "Icon Launcher" type, which are in fact, "official" (developed by KDE) I was talking about some other desktop widget you may have downloaded or installed (like a Status monitor for resources, weather; some other toy, or utility; or a custom task manager, a menu, a clock, and so on) Regards
I've got nothing unofficial! BUT!! I just took away a few widgets (about 6-7) and guess what? The system starts on 3'38'' from login page!! Which is fantastic! I'll continue testing to see if it can go better!
[Comment from a bug triager] Don't forget to mention here which one did you remove so developers can track the bug, and the info could help other people experiencing the same issue. Regards
With Desktop Effects Loaded it takes 3' from login to hear the music, 3'38'' to load the Mozilla and 6'40'' to see my Desktop fully loaded!
now the problem is back again although I've diminished the number of my plasmoids to 5. Any ideas to make my start faster?
It loads everything for about a minute on my KDE 4.7.4.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
