Description e3k 2011-01-07 15:10:01 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS: Linux

i am watching the file /var/log/messages which is now 35MB big.

the startup takes after login ~25-35 sec. when the widget is removed its about 5 sec.

file watch is obviously reading the whole file instead of doing something like tail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
watch a big file and restart your pc. after login press ctrl-alt-F1 and check what is consuming your CPU.

Actual Results:
slow startup of kde.

Expected Results:
quicker start.
