Version: 1.0 (KDE 4.3) (using KDE 1.2) OS: Linux With Telugu locale project overview statistics are using native Telugu numerals. In daytoday usage, Arabic form of Indian numerals are used by native Telugus. Hence please change the numeral usage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Login with Telugu locale Load a project Look at statistics Actual Results: statistics with Telugu Numerals (౧౨౩౪౫౬౭౮౯౦ ) Expected Results: Statistics with Arabic form of Indian numerals(1234567890) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-21-generic Compiler: cc Running Localize under Gnome with I-bus support
are Telugu Numerals (should be) used anywhere in KDE at all? i see this a more kdelibs/klocale issue...
Telugu numerals only need to be supported for data entry in input methods. They are not needed any where else.
As mentioned in the bug report we use Arabic form of Indian numerals for translations as well as for numeric representation where ever they occur. If we need to input Telugu numerals as a reference or representation of existing document we need them in input methods. Thanks, Krishna.
so would you rather like KDE developers fix this everywhere in kdelibs where numerals are display, than me fixing this specifically in the ProjectOverview tab statistics? if first is the case, please give us more examples of where you would like to have arabic numerals and where telugu ones. also if you are able to code, it would be better if you would 'scratch your own itch' :)
Normally in application UI and in any kind of messages we would prefer to have arabic numerals as we use in daytoday usage. We require telugu numerals in input methods and fonts. If the above mentioned problem is occurring because of the translations then i would like to help in translation corrections. Otherwise as you said it might need to be fixed in common locations from where applications are getting them.
