Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90) OS: Linux KMail doesn't always seem to detect if the mesage has an attachment and doesn't always remember that after a restart. The message needs to be opened for KMail to notice that it has an attachment, if the message is not opened KMail doesn't display the paper clip left of the message in the message list. Also, for the majority of e-mails KMail forgets again that they have attachments when KMail is closed and started again (or after a reboot, not sure), meaning the message doesn't have the paper clip icon anymore. This is somehow not the case for all e-mails, for a minority it does remember that they have attachments. Reproducible: Sometimes
Hej, this should have been fixed in the meantime. New messages that are retrieved via POP3 or IMAP should always have the right flags set now. Ciao, Tobias
unfortunately this does not work yet with IMAP using OpenSuSE 11.4 KMail Version 4.7.0 Unter KDE 4.7.00 (4.7.0) "release 6"
While the other problems I described in my description are no longer present, it is still the case that KMail only displays the paperclip in front of the message's subject after the e-mail is opened. This is with Kontact 4.7 on KDE 4.7.
In my case, even after opening the e-mail, it still does no change the e-mail to status to on that shows it has an e-mail. Using openSUSE 11.4 with KDE 4.7.0
I can confirm this on openSUSE 11.4, KDE 4.7.0, on a disconnected IMAP account. It seems that when I receive new e-mails, the attachment flag works, but for old e-mails the paperclip is not shown. Even opening the e-mail does not change the flag.
My theory isn't true - I have received new e-mails with attachments and the paperclip is not shown, while for some new e-mails it is shown.
conforming on IMAP account. It makes an attachment filter quite useless...
I know it doesn't add a lot of information, but I've got the exact same problem, most attachment aren't displayed in the messages list pane, with a fresh KDE 4.7.2 install (and a reset of the .kde folder too), on archlinux. What information can we provide to help solve this issue ?
I see this problem still present on some of my emails on KDE SC 4.9 beta 1.
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
