I am very very new to fedora and I can not seem to get the AVi and other MP3 working. I have checked the sound card which is functioning and playing test sound but no AVI runs at all

Reproducible: Didn't try




OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64

Aloha.
Please try to get help with this in a fedora related forum or on a mailing list or even IRC. The ability of playing proprietary formats only comes from installing an appropriate codec. Fedora does not include those for various reasons so you will have to install them yourself. It should however be very easy to do, I just do not happen to know how as I am not using fedora :)
