Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 4.5.4) OS: Linux When copying CD's I save the ISO image for future ease of producing further copies. Under some circumstances, the CD image files are unusable even though the disk produced at the same session is fine. When attempting subsequently to burn the image file, K3b gives the message that "the ISO image seems to be unusable." This error message is not a false indication; when the image is burned with a different program the resulting CD is in fact not mountable. The problem occurs consistently for certain particular image files, perhaps 2 or 3 percent of them. No special feature of the files that occasion this problem is evident to me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Produce (particular) ISO image 2. Attempt to burn image. Actual Results: Error is seen. Expected Results: Should have burned CD. OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.34.7-66.fc13.i686.PAE Compiler: gcc Hard to decide if this is "normal" severity or "Major." Files are probably too large to be attached herewith.
19 February, 2011 Further investigation shows that for some image files saved by K3b, the first volume descriptor is not of type "primary". This result is obtained using the program ISO Master 1.3.7 and is true for all of the image files that K3b cannot burn, and only for those image files. I would like to see someone pay some attention to this malfunction.
This problem seems to have gone away with the recent update of the libisofs package for fedora 13. See here: http://www.spinics.net/lists/fedora-package-announce/msg55432.html
2 April, 2011 Although some instances of the problem have changed, the problem, in general, remains.
