Created attachment 55491 [details] screen shot of dialog box Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux I burned a data DVD containing several avi video files. The burn completed successfully. K3b then proceeded to the step to verify the data. A dialog popped up stating "Device in use = K3b" telling me that the DVD drive was in use by totem-video-thu. It then presents 3 options. Check again; Quit the other application; Continue. I have on different occasions tried each of the options. In each case the verification process begins and completes successfully. I do not find any processes related to totem running when this dialog arises. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Run K3b in Writing mode: Auto with only Verify written data checked. Include .avi files as the data to be written. Place the video files in the root directory of the compilation (I think this is the key - I will check this). Actual Results: Burn completes OK. Dialog described above and attached as a screen shot appears. Clearing the dialog allows the verification to proceed. This problem seems to occur only when burning video files to the root directory of the DVD. At least I do not recall it happening if the video files are further down a tree structure on the DVD. Expected Results: The dialog should not be raised as totem is not running and cannot be using the DVD drive. At least I have not figured out how it can be using the drive if the totem process is not running. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-27-generic Compiler: cc
I just burned a DVD with 4 avi files in a subdirectory off the root of the DVD. No problem. K3b transitioned from burning to verifying with no problem. The issue ONLY occurs when the avi files are in the root of the DVD.
Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!
I cannot test this on Ubuntu. I did test it on CentOS 7.5 with the Mate desktop. The error does NOT occur. I recommend closing this bug as unconfirmed. A couple of other comments: I noticed that the DVD was NOT ejected and reloaded between writing and verifying. I believe this used to occur. I _suspect_ that when the DVD was reloaded the desktop environment was set to "autoplay" multimedia content with totem. This might have caused the conflict with K3b. Thanks again, Ken
Thanks for the update!
