- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Closing a duplicate message notifier in the task bar (see below).
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
I usually leave Kontact running when I shut my machine down so that when I next boot up it will automatically restart.  On occasion I have noticed that the system reports that an instance of Kontact is already running, but I have previously continued without any further problems.

On this occasion, I noticed that there were two notifiers in the Taskbar; both telling me I had two new messages.  I right-clicked on one (the rightmost one if that is relevant) and Kontact crashed.
