[Comment from a bug triager]
- Which widgets do you have in your desktop ? Do you have anyone that you manually downloaded ? (or some using the GetHotNewStuff dialog ?)
- When does this error start happening ?
Thanks

I have the Fancytasks hub installed. I believe thats the reason. Still
haven't tried to un-/reinstall that.

Comment 3 Jussi Suhonen 2010-12-30 06:21:32 UTC
Uninstalling solved the problem. Desktop works ok. Also tried to reinstall.
Install process went ok. After adding Fancytasks onto desktop and reboot,
the plasma crashes again.

Fancytasks is now uninstalled. However, It left another problem: HDMI
doens't work -> says "out of range". D-sub works ok.

Hope this helps.

The HDMI problem seems to have no relation with this crash (I think)

If you still want to use the FancyTasks widget, try to reinstall it, but using the latest version. Also, you may need to recompile it (or request support from Ubuntu if you installed it from standard packages)

Closing as UPSTREAM as it is not related to KDE code.
