Description Praedor Tempus 2010-12-27 23:04:36 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

Every time I fire up kopete I find my Friends folder filled up with the same list of yahoo contacts. Every one of them is unknown to be (yet they are my "friends" according to Kopete?). I delete them in the kopete window and next time I start kopete they are back again. I try to manually edit the kopete config files to remove all trace of them there and they come back at next kopete startup.

The list includes the same contacts from a to z and ALL of them are unknown to me: annabeladuan5@live.com, archkoval74@live.com, arthertata84@hotmail.com, etc, down through the b's, c's, etc, down to the last one of wyndouglas28@hotmail.com. I have no control of them. They are ALL Yahoo messenger contacts.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start kopete.

Delete all of them. Restart kopete.

Actual Results:
All the unknown contacts reappear in my "Friends" folder.

Expected Results:
They should go away and never reappear. My "Friends" should be 100% controlled by me.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.33.7-desktop-2mnb
Compiler: gcc

Hello from the KDE Bugsquad!

Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete.

Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo.
