Description kalyan chakrawarthy 2010-12-27 12:27:14 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

Google desktop search installed in Linux unable to call browser in KDE from 4.6 RC1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Install google desktop search in linux and a corresponding icon appears in system tray of kde 4.6 RC1. Preferences, Status and search results are supposed to be displayed in default web browser specified in KDE, but google desktop is unable to launch web browser.

Actual Results:
Google desktop search is unable to launch browser for displaying preferences and search results.

Expected Results:
Web browser is launched to display search results and to configure the settings.

This has happened earlier but got fixed in KDE 4.5 and this regression happened again in Kde 4.6RC1. Got gnome installed in my system and web browser getting launched as expected.

Can't reproduce it using KDE SC 4.9 RC1.

Feel free to reopen the report if the problem still exists in recent versions (KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher)
