Version:           SVN (using KDE 4.5.90) 
OS:                Linux

On my computer I could not receive any files via the ICQ protocol but send them. I activated the option “Use Proxy instead” in ICQ settings.
I think Kopete should offer the user or at least notify him about the existence of this setting and that it may solve those issues, so you won‘t be frustrated forever until you accidentally encounter this option and *know* what it will do.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
