Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2010-12-26 00:29:06 UTC
Version: SVN (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

When copying a large folder or especially folders with a lot of tiny files (e.g. crystal icon theme folder) kio takes forever first looking for files and then after a lot of time it begins starting to copy.
It should already start copying while it is still looking for files. At least on drives where this is suitable. In Vista people complained about the long time a copy progress takes and they made the copy progress copy in advance for a more “smooth” copying experience.

Reproducible: Didn't try

This is going to be addressed in GSOC. I saw a proposal for it, nice :)

Was it in fact addressed for a GSoC? If so, let's close Bug 94781.
