Description Sabine Faure 2010-12-23 01:52:51 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

The Format Painter functionalities from the html toolbar in the Identities dialogue - Signature tab is not usable on the N900 since it is impossible to select text using the plastic pen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Identities'
- Select an already existing identity
- Click on 'Modify' button
- Click on the 'Signature' tab
- Check the 'Enable signature' check box
- Select 'Input Field Below' from the 'Obtain siganture text from:' combo box
- Check the 'Use HTML' check box underneath the text editor
- Above the text edit field the html toolbar appears
- In the text editor enter you Name and Surname as plain text and your Work Title in italic
- Put the cursor on the italic text
- Click on the black zone next to the last icon and you will see a '>>' icon appearing as well as 3 options: 'Link, Format Painter and Add Image'
- Click on 'Format Painter'
- Using the platic pen try to select the plain text to apply the italic formatting to it

Actual Results:
A paintbrush icon appear but the italic formatting is never applied since it is impossible to select with the plastic pen.

Expected Results:
This functionality is clearly meant to be used with a mouse so I do not think it can be on a mobile version which is mouseless.

Note: I tried selecting the plain text using the N900 keyboard but that cannot work either since you need to click to give the focus back to the text editor to be able to select text using shift + left or right arrows.

Creation of HTML signatures is not important for the komo3 contract.
