Created attachment 55155 [details] The menu gets partly cut off Version: unspecified OS: Linux When placing the Plasma cashew in a corner, the menu is positioned fine, right next to the cashew and not lapping off a corner. When dragging the cashew so it becomes this labled bar and leaving it close to the screen corner, it often gets partly off-screen. Reproducible: Always
I am unable to reproduce this in KDE 4.7.4 on Fedora 16. Please update your KDE to the latest version. If you are still experiencing this bug, please feel free to reopen this report with additional information, such as a screenshot. Thanks!
Created attachment 66402 [details] Menu laps offscreen on 4.7.3 Still an issue on 4.7.3 … I think this only happens on multiscreen setups (the initial report was on my main machine using two monitors while I just reproduced it on my notebook as well using a cloned view (external+laptop showing the same image)
Thank you for the additional information, especially the screenshot. Thanks to that picture, I've been able to reproduce this on a single monitor/screen. From my observation it only happens if the cashew is at the bottom (not corner) of the screen, either left or right. Updating with steps to reproduce. Reproducible: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure that there is no panel at the bottom of the screen (either on a another screen/monitor or move it to the top) 2. Move the cashew/toolbox icon to the bottom of the screen near, but not exactly on, the corner so that it is a horizontal bar instead of a circle, as shown in comment #2 3. Click on the cashew/toolbox icon. Result: The menu that pops up is cut off at the right edge of the screen. The same thing happens when the cashew is near the bottom left corner of the screen, in which case the menu is cut off at the left edge. Expected result: The menu should appear wholly just like when the cashew is placed at the top of the screen.
Changing status to NEW and editing summary for clarity.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
