Description Kanwar Plaha 2010-12-22 01:27:25 UTC
Version:           2.0.89 (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS:                Linux

Since moving to Kmail2, my IMAP accounts have stopped working. I have tried both the normal as well as disconnected mode.

Not sure what else I can tell you about the bug but my workplace uses a MS Exchange 2008 based IMAP server. I have been using this IMAP account for several years with Kmail 1.x with out any issues.

Regards,
Kanwar

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start Kmail2. Create an IMAP account. Try to fetch mails.

Actual Results:
No emails are fetched.

Expected Results:
Emails stored/received on the IMAP servers should be sync'ed locally.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.37-rc3-git1-6-default
Compiler: gcc

Hello

I cannot reproduce this bug on opensuse 11.4. My kde environment is the following

Qt: 4.7.1
KDE Development Platform: 4.6.41 (4.7 >= 20110106)
KMail: 2.0.89

Please can you try to reproduce the bug with a newer version of kmail?

Yes, you might be right. I don't think its Kmail2 anymore. The issue probably is Kmail2 talking to akonadi. There is definitely a problem there.

I setup a new mail account and then tried to delete it from Kmail configuration. It deleted the account but it still shows it in the folder list. No matter what I do -- I even removed the entire .kde4 directory -- it doesn't go away.

Also, mail fetching is erratic at best. I am forced to use older repositories and work with 1.x only.

Is there a way for Kmail2 to work without using the new akonadi framework, which imo, still needs lot of work. Besides not having 'real' exchange connectivity defeats the purpose so the old and steady 1.x framework for IMAP accounts is more than sufficient.

Thanks.

Hello

Sorry for my late response... Try to remove the following things

~/.local/share/akonadi
~/.config/akonadi
~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail*
~/.kde4/share/config/{kmail*,akonadi*}

Those things are going to remove everything that regards kmail and akonadi...
