Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2010-12-19 15:03:55 UTC
Version:           SVN (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS:                Linux

I am using the new Resize Window Effect which resizes windows by scaling their texture instead of redrawing its content over and over again which is really smooth.
I just noticed then that windows don‘t reliably snap to screen edges anymore on resizing (when moving it is fine of course) when this effect is active. Sometimes they do but often they don‘t.
I never got them to snap to the bottom corner of my screen. Sometimes it works with one border but then not the other, sometimes it works on both. But it is not reliably doing this.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Works here.
Since it does hardly more than to silently activate the contentless resize mode, and that code rather didn't change since years - may be it's just a matter of the snapping zone dimension (since the resize now happens much faster)

-> "kcmshell kwinoptions", tab "moving"
a) you can disable "display content in resizing windows", suspend compositing (shift+alt+f12) and check whether the result is the same
b) try to increase the border snap zone - is it more "reliable" then?

cannot reproduce either. Could you please answer questions from comment #1?

Cannot reproduce it on my notebook. Seems my KDE installation on my main pc is pretty f---ed up ;)
