Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85) OS: Linux You can define a keystroke (shortcut) for each widget. It works fine with the system tray but in 4.6 the setting for notifications is not remembered on restart. It works fine once set. But after restarting your computer, the shortcut is unset again. Reproducible: Always
Same goes for the battery widget. Is it possible that this bug applies to all widgets that are contained in another one (i.e. the system tray)? Also I noticed when re-assigning the shortcut, Plasma states that this keystroke is already assigned for “Plasma widget: Battery monitor” or something. But neither the key works, nor does the configuration dialog tell you it is assigned.
Also: Its entry in the systemsettings configuration module for global shortcuts in the category “Plasma” is retained although it is set to none. When re-assigning the shortcut, another entry appears assigned to your shortcut.
Related to http://bugs.kde.org/288195 and now fixed?
Kai Uwe: Can I close this report?
Seems fixed in 4.8.3. I set a shortcut, kquitapp plasma-desktop and let it restart and the keystroke is still remembered. Also works for the battery applet.
Hello! Plasma 4 was replaced by Plasma 5 four years ago by the KDE community. In that time we have made great strides in stability and functionality. We are closing all Plasma 4 bugs as most of them are no longer applicable to the new frameworks Plasma 5 is built upon. If you could, please re-test with the latest version of Plasma 5, and submit a new bug to "plasmashell" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
