Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.4) OS: Linux Capacity bar (placed to the right of the status bar by default) isn't updated properly until I change directory. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Delete something visible in terms of disk space (using Shift+Del inside Dolphin itself, for example). 2. Notice that indication in capacity bar wasn't updated. 3. Click 'Properties' to see the disk space of partition. Notice that capacity bar is still not updated. 4. Change directory. Notice that now capacity bar is updated.

I cannot reproduce this issue: I deleted a file and the capacity bar is updated a few seconds without changing the directory. Please note that currently there is no mechanism in kdelibs to automatically get informed about the capacity change, so Dolphin does a polling each 10 seconds. Could you please check whether waiting up to 10 seconds works in your case? What I'm wondering is that when opening the Properties dialog also no update is done (as in this case the capacity is read for sure). Do you have FAM installed on your system? If you're not sure: If you remove a file in the console and have the parent directory of this file open in Dolphin: does Dolphin automatically remove the file too?
Peter, thanks for detailed description of the problem. I've made more experiments and here's the answers on your questions: 1. I didn't wait for 10 seconds the first time. Now I tried to wait even more (about 2 minutes) and the capacity bar didn't updated at all (copied about 3 GB to the disk). 2. Yes, suprisingly it isn't updated even when I click Properties (see the screenshot). It doesn't depend on how I quit the Properties dialog, I tried both OK and Cancel but with no result. 3. It is updated immediately when I go to any child folder. 4. I have Gamin 0.1.10 installed but to make sure everything works properly I've made the experiment you described and yes, Dolphin is automatically updated when I remove file from console. Maybe any other package can be the cause? I've also noticed (not only on the described system but on two others with latest Kubuntu) that Dolphin don't remove unmounted flash drives. I know it's separate bug but maybe it's connected to this one and will help somehow.

@Alexey Can you still reproduce this issue with Dolphin 17.12.3? If not, I'll close this bug soon™.
No response -> closing. Please reopen if you can still reproduce this behavior with the newest version of Dolphin.
