since kmail 2 i cannot connect to gmail with some of my accounts. username is correct but the problem is on the passwordsite. i have chanced my pw and now its fine. try using a passwort like -> "AXFv06[
this one will defenetly not work with kmail2

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
change your gmail passwort to "AXFv06[ and try to get your mails

Actual Results:
The server refused the supplied username and password. Do you want to go to the settings, have another attempt at logging in, or do nothing?

Login failed, server replied: A000002 NO Invalid credentials ( Failure ) [ ALERT ]

only imap. disconected and not result in the same problem. now tested with a fresh, new gmail account AND a new user account on my pc with the password: "AXFv06[
imap is activated on the gmail account.

Hello

First of all, the password 'AXFv06[' is not big enough. Gmail requires an 8 length password. Yours is 7. Also i cannot reproduce this bug. I am using kde 4.6.1 with kmail 2.0.89 and my distro is opensuse 11.3. Please can you try to reproduce the bug again with a newer version of kde?
Comment 4 Fabian B. 2011-03-21 00:34:45 UTC
Hi again. The password is »"AXFv06[«, the ' " ' is a part.
for testing i have created the mail adress "kmail2.test@googlemail.com" with password »"AXFv06[« (without the »«)
kmail2 Version 2.0.89 on KDE SC 4.6.1 cant connect

Hello

I cannot connect to the kmail2.test account (for my browser). Either the password is wrong or someone else has change it. If you are able to retrive it, please sent it to my email address... Thank you for your information.
