Description Volker Hemmann 2010-12-14 21:14:59 UTC
Version: SVN trunk (KDE 4) (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS: Linux

I updated to 4.6beta2 from 4.5.4. I have lots of filters set to sort incoming mail into different directories.
After every boot the filters stop working: Opening the filter dialog this greets me in the filter action area:
Unknown folder '.sonstige.directory/alternate'
I set it manually to read Kmail Folder sonstiges/alternate and everything works - until the next boot.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Have a working 4.5.4 installation. Have kmail configured with douzends of filters and many thousands of emails.
Upgrade to 4.6beta2
fight with akonadi.
See this weired behaviour on every single boot.

Actual Results:
Unknown folder '.sonstige.directory/alternate'

Expected Results:
KMail Folders/sonstige/alternate

Also kmail is f* slow when hitting any directory with 1000+ emails. Taking ages to list all mails. Even worse, akonadi gobbles up ram as mad.

Is there a way to get rid of it?

hm, for some reason this reboot the filter settings stayed correctly and for a while filtering worked. But I was away for some hours and when I came back all the mails received in the mean time were not filtered at all and dumped in the inbox.

Confirming for Kmail 2.0.95.
The filters are there on restart, but all of them loose the Folder where to store the messages.
Some of the filters say "Unknown folder 27".

Can you test the most recent version, please?
Comment 5 Volker Hemmann 2011-05-31 16:29:06 UTC
hi,

kmail does not forget filtering anymore (tested with version from 15 Mai)
but for a while it looked like this:

it filters most of the time, but several times a day a 'conflict' message popped up. The first message it was possible to choose between the one presented, the second time worked sometimes- and then kmail froze up or crashed.. All messages fetched on that attempt were completely unsorted.

I removed bogofilter from the filter settings and since then filtering just works.

Seems that there is some raciness with external spam identifying methods.
