Created attachment 54537 [details] Screenshot of menu that fades out Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux Shelf settings/Advanced menu fades out unnaturally after the Left Right Extender position buttons. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Shelf on Panel. RT click on shelf. Click Shelf Settings. Click on "Advanced". Look at menu. Actual Results: menu fades out. Is there more important stuff I can not see. Expected Results: Not faded out.
what does actually happens? i see the settings menu working correctly here, i don't understand the issue
This is a part of the oxygen theme (the panel fading), nothing to do with the shelf applet.
It looks like the bottom half of the menu is missing. This is what other people see: http://simplest-image-hosting.net/jpg-0-plasma-desktopl23316 Compare with attachment above. I really want to change the icon that my shelf is visible as, but that part of the menu seems to be is missing.

This is what other people see: http://simplest-image-hosting.net/jpg-0-plasma-desktopl23316 I really want to change the Icon displayed externally. Is there any way to do that? Where is the info associated with the drawer settings stored internally is there any way I can change the Icon with an editor?
The icon chooser (in 4.6) is only displayed when the shelf is in a panel (in iconified state). Due to some changes in plasma, in 4.5 (and possibly 4.4) it wasn't available. > I really want to change the Icon displayed externally. Externally?
