Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux To me, the 'Tile level' option in the 'Download region' dialog is not very intuitive, because I have no idea what 'Tile level' means. Maybe one could instead offer options like 'Country', 'City', 'Highway', 'Walking' as possible levels? Other options: - Display a tile corresponding to the entered tile level, so that the user can see what kind of detail it corresponds to. - Indicate the altitude of the point of view to which this tile level corresponds. Created attachment 119669 [details] Mockup to show the current tile level in the status bar This problem still exists today (Marble 2.2.20). I suggest to show the current tile level (what the rendering should be based on) next to the “Altitude” field in the status bar.
The ability to show the tile level is actually already implemented - but a bit hidden since we regard the "Download region" functionality as a feature for advanced users: Just right-click on the statusbar and enable the display of the tile level there. That gives something very similar to your mockup. :-)
