Description Andreas Kuhl 2010-12-12 15:18:38 UTC
Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS: Linux

I wanted to write a new mail with KMail 2 and opened the compose mail window.
If I start typing a few letters of a contact from my Akonadi adressbook into
the address field, the autocomplete dropdown shows up as expected.

BUT if I try now to complete the address by selecting a shown contact (either
by navigating with the [TAB] and [ENTER] key or by clicking it directly with
the mouse, the dropdown disappears but the address is not completed.

Even worse: If I try to set focus on the address field again, it refuses to get
the focus. No text cursor is shown and typing is ignored. However, I can reset
the field by clicking the "empty field" icon on the very right side of the text
field.

Reproducible: Always

Hej Andreas,

does this happen as well with a different widget style?
E.g. when starting kmail with 'kmail -style plastique'?

Ciao,
Tobias

Hmm, I cannot reproduce the behaviour now (even with default Oxygen style) while I could reproduce it several times yesterday. As soon as it is misbehaving again, I will try with another widget style and keep you posted!

From #259619:

In fact the address seems to be completely there, if fill out more than one
to-field the "save list"-option-appears and allows to save the list and shows
that Kmail knows about the email addresses.

I changed to plastique. The problem does not seem to occur with this widget-style.
