In the current version of KMyMoney prices with a conversion rate of 0 are not supported. Since a stock can loose all of its value this is a valid condition and should be supported.

You can use "Remove Shares" for this.  The reason why zero is not accepted is that it would cause a division by zero in some dependencies, such as performance reports.
I would not consider this a bug or a valid request.
